Jennifer Nagrath, PhD

Jennifer holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree with a concentration in Transpersonal Psychology; a Master’s degree in Psychology together with a Creative Expression Certification; a second Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University; and a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in accounting and income tax from India.

Jennifer works as a mental health counselor engaging with clients that deal with a diverse array of mental health issues such as anger, grief, anxiety, panic, PTSD, depression as well as working with families and couples. In addition, she spends twice a week in a corrections facility running group counseling sessions on alcohol and drug addictions for individuals incarcerated, both males and females. In addition, Jennifer is part of the County Drug Court Program counseling individuals where the focus and goal is to modify behavior in order to eliminate the cycle of substance abuse and recurring crime.

Jennifer also volunteers at a Research Institute that is primarily focused on psychotherapy incorporating equines for post 9/11 Veterans that deal with the symptomology of PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Her role is to ensure the rigor and integrity of the research as the organization refines evidence-based treatment strategies that may serve as a benchmark for equine-assisted psychotherapy providers.

Jennifer was born in India, has lived in five countries (India, Hong Kong, China, Japan, & now the United States) and has traveled around the world extensively. These opportunities to experience multiple cultures built a renewed attentiveness to the symbols of mythology that are embedded in the fabric of our daily life and in our dreams. As Joseph Campbell stated, "It would not be too much to say that myth is the secret opening through which the inexhaustible energies of the cosmos pour into human cultural manifestations."

Jennifer is passionate about serving others and is dedicated to a lifetime of empowering people to achieve their full potential.
